  • In regards to the whole sticker conversation, if I went to a festival and bought a tshirt then I would because I went there and experienced it. I wouldn't buy one if I didn't experience it myself so I agree with Gareth.

  • Stickers... I have the nurb tattooed on me 👀 is that ok?

  • italy, home of middlelaners..

  • I just buy off car people. Then I know the cars been looked after and they have good intentions on letting the car go to the right buyers

  • Timestamps please. Other than that I'm gonna listen to this podcast in the future. 👍

  • The thing with down badging a 335d is that the only people that will notice or care will be car people, and car people will know its a 335 from the exhaust arrangement

  • I thought it would be a lamborgini lm002, the truck, 1986

  • We talking about jlr...? Selling shit😂😂😂

  • Alex’s accents omg I’ve lost it!!!!

  • regarding sold as seen: if you buy a car from someone and either there is an issue they didn't know about or something happens, then you have no recourse. However, if the owner has deliberate misled you then they have misrepresented the car. To deliberately mislead you, the owner must actively lie, rather than omit the truth. So if they know there is an issue it is not deliberately misleading if they don't offer the information up to you. It IS deliberate misleading if you ask "any issues with the car at the moment?" and they lie saying there isn't an issue, then you have some recourse. Always, always, always ask when privately buying a car "any issues whatsoever with the car?". Always, always, always use a contract as the guys describe and always list and known issues you've discussed.

  • I dont have a car. Bit om pretty sure that if that guy (who wants to like the car for longer) should buy a shitbox, that barely runs. It will have longer time with it because he will be spending time fixing it, maybe even start to love it, once he fixes it, he saw his/her inside.

  • I agree with once u buy a car and take it home its a done deal. However if on the drive home something was to go wrong with it i would think its acceptable to asked for a return.

  • I love how Gareth calls out Alex when he's chatting shit.

  • By the time you guys find somewhere else to do the podcast you'll be able to be back in the van 😂

  • They have “curburgring” stickers already ask the guy with “the keys” ;-).

  • To Jez, who emailed in, Get a Saab Aero!!!! 2.8 V6 😉😉😎

  • When you buy a used car from a private seller there is no right to a refund -it is effectively sold as seen regardless of what has been said. As for buying from a dealer (normal sale) they have a legal responsibility under consumer contract law, so stating 'sold as seen' does not negate their legal duties (what Jack was saying basically) - however in practice if someone says its sold as seen they are not going to be very receptive to your requests for a return/refund etc meaning the only way to get them to do it is to threaten legal action, which is costly, time consuming and stressful. It's usually only stated about cheaper/older cars which the delaer isnt going to want to make a loss on fixing any potential problems. At an auction all cars are sold as seen, even if sold by dealers, but for ebay the terms of the auction is that they must be as described, so you can back out if there is anything wrong - but must do so before you part with your money - so ideally check the car before you bid, but if not check the car against the ad when you collect.

  • Biggest annoyance when on cruise control: You overtake someone and some other bellend hoons right up your trumpet, you pull back in after finishing the overtake and the moron then pulls in front of you and then slows down. Absolute fuckhats.

  • Porsche Cayenne V6. You mean a Golf R32 on stilts... No thanks.

  • Ethan, I finally collected all Kanto Pokémon (all Gen1) at last, on Kanto day.. it was a great day :D keep up the great content guys

  • I know the etiquette is to use lane 1 but surely in reality of everyone used the 1st Lane and was going bang on 70 it would be bumper to bumper and noone would be able to get in on the slip road?

  • On your topic of Cruise Control... you can never have a peaceful journey at 70. You have to go for random numbers. I find 74mph works best, or 63mph. Randomly specific but try it, it works.

  • Porche wont be selling only electric in 2025 they're to busy developing 3D printable pistons for their cars in 2028 or 2029 and what I'm hearing is out of business by 2030

  • 6:55 what you mean used to be a 🛎🔚 hahahahaha

  • Love the podcast, however!!! Can you please update the camera quality as it's 2021! xx

  • I love a sleeper!

  • Everyone in Wales? Sorry Alex, you're wrong! 😝

  • call Ethan's wood channel Carveuretor!!

  • That 335d being faster than every single car in the world story didn’t ring true to me. Faster than a gullwing merc? It’s only 440hp mate leave it off

  • Served Jack in the shop I work in. How many fuses do u need lol sorted u out a little discount. Welcome thanks for content

  • Need to learn to narrow down the options by asking the continent first rather than listing every country that’s ever made a car

  • Restore the 1£ Volvo and do a giveaway!

  • So what was the scam ? .

  • 😴 💤💰💤👙💤🚗💤🍻💤💤💤

  • and on, . . . . . .

  • and on, . . . .

  • And droned on, . . . .

  • That is not 2m between you. Your EARS, perhaps, but not in Social Distancing. .

  • 40:15 Jack giving someone a proper death stare for quite some time 😂😂

  • Can you please put time stamps on your videos. Thanks

  • Totally agree about cruise control, it really does show who can't drive when you use it 😏

  • Good call from the Sit Afrikin Gareth on the Lexus for a 3k budget. Something slightly different and a refreshing change from all the kraut dross that A+J keep harping on about. LS400 is older but a better choice, but older but the absolute pinnacle of engineering at the time. LS430 have a known fault with the integrated radiator / oil cooler

  • Hi Guys Have a suggestion for your podcast. The 20 questions section, you could call one of your listeners and guess the car they own. They could tell Rory what the car is beforehand so they cannot cheat and you could put a pic of their car in post production. Not only will it allow you lot to have a competition on who guesses the most but will involve your listeners/watchers too.

  • What the hell, I never remember un-subbing to you

  • Ethan is one my people?

  • Blindspot hogs next the a truck with a race car trailer is the absolute bane. Especially when merging onto a freeway and those fuckers go below the speed limit.

  • Downbadge all the way lol

  • 27:31 Gareth mentioning some of the 13 bad words

  • “Mahye waiyfe”

  • Sucks when I'm listening on spotify and think of an awesome comment when I'm driving and then remember oh. Wait. No way to comment on spotify 😭

  • 1974 - 1990 for the contach, what a car and a machine!

  • 11:52 only ppl who hate bmw's are ppl who either haven't owned one, or owned a shitty one, prolly a 4 pot. drive a decent old n/a 6 cyl bmw and tell me you don't like it. yea, there's gonna be faster things on the road, but for purity and pleasure of driving, very hard to beat. or ppl who already know what they're all about and want to try something else.

  • Hey guys how about podcast from Sheerness.

  • I had no idea HMP Edinburgh was now recruiting in Brazil.

  • This feels like an TV Show for Apple :)

  • A car buying scam? Oh I thought you all were gonna mention the EV car purchase scam? Just think about it people werent driving or buying any cars during lockdown so the government urged people into buying an EV whilst there is no readly infrastructure to support EV's. The government wanted to save the car dealerships so everybody financed one with the government grant.

  • This episode has proved once again how much of a dick Alex is

  • what i hate is when you are in the outside lane, nice gap between car in front cruising overtaking the slow traffic, then the car behind is right up your arse. you move over to let them overtake they then drive 5 mph slower than what you were and constantly on the brakes.

  • Vast majority of debadgers are those hiding something guttless all day long 😂

  • I was hoping the police response after 3 years was going to be: 'its a scam! Don't buy the car!'

  • To the guy with the 318D bage ... I like your idea but adding the whole list of "sPeCiAl CaRs It EmBaRrAsSeD" and all the stats, while impressive, gives off strong douche energy

  • Four stops an hour does not necessarily equate to four tickets an hour .

  • Car SOLD AS SEEN! End of

  • when gareth sung broken glass i thought that the original song got edited into the video for a second

  • Getting boring now guys

  • Curdborough track stickers are available for event days, I have a couple from classic car sprint days

  • I often see "Big Boy" in his range rover too.

  • Shout out for Pokémon Go Kanto day.

  • Keep singing to piss everyone off hahahahaha

  • I’ve got an amazing space you can use... but it’s in Sydney.

  • So how many others just assumed that the black round things in the background were tyres? This being a car channel and all...

  • I hate the blind-spot-hoggers too, but there is a really simple solution: as you see the situation unfolding and the slower vehicle ahead, speed up a couple of mph and pull out ahead of them

  • Not very smart of Gareth to pick a car company that made about 4 different models in 50 years 😂

  • Ethan’s point about cruise control reminds me so much about the numpties I call “the 68 brigade” who travel on the A1 from Newry to Belfast at 68 mph, so when I’m in cruise control at 70 I overtake them. There are two sections of the road with a 60mph speed limit. When there’s no traffic to overtake I take the cruise control down to 60mph, only to be overtaken again by the same car, still doing 68mph... then when the road goes back to 70mph the process just repeats.... these people must do 68mph regardless of any speed limit signs

  • When are you driving a Hydrogen car ? Need to show the difference between Hydrogen and electric vehicles 🚗

  • Someone tell me, what use is Gareth ??

  • For people trying to return a car I always make them sign a sold as seen form and never have had a problem

  • Lamborghini Diablo, from the 80s? Eh...

  • I love bmw's but is it just me or are nearly all 335d owners annoying as f$ck?!

  • For £3,000, why doesn't he buy my Saab 9-5 HOT Aero Estate @13:30 It's for sale here: www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1314285 Be rude not to plug my own car wouldn't it...

  • Alex is an impressive driver the day we meet im sure we can talk about how fast we have got point to point , mine is from central Lincoln - Milton Keynes in 48 minutes in my 220 hp vw bora 1.9tdi think the time Google says it should take 1 h 41 minutes to my uncle Petes house my dad was present in body but I think his soul left

  • Jack's correct in what he's saying about "Sold As Seen". It genuinely isn't worth it's words even if you're buying from a private seller off a street corner. As a purchaser you are still covered by the same consumer rights as you would be of buying from a dealership, as the car needs to be fit for purpose as advertised. It's far from practical for a purchaser to be able to give a car a full proper going over on a street corner to the point that you're confident it's mechanically sound in every aspect, not to mention 80% of motorists can't fill a tyre or check their oil, therefor the responsibility falls on the seller to be honest in the advert and sale.

    • @13992josh Oh was it your story?

    • @Chris indeed i did, wasnt worth the scrap on my driveway haha

    • @13992josh Ah right yeah I'm with you. Then the seller would be under no legal obligation to refund the purchaser. The buyer could try take the seller to court but ultimately he'd loose. The guy mentioned in the podcast litterly gave the refund to save himself the hassle.

    • @Chris my point referring to car a private sale car being returned as mentioned in the scenario in the podcast

    • @13992josh Then everythings going to be cosher, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get at?

  • This should be the next cast of Top Gear: Alex, Ethan and Jack!!

  • I love watching Gareth being ripped into every episode 🤣🤣🤣

  • Fun fact about downbadging: The king of Sweden (that is the *real* king of Sweden) put 518i badges on his E28 M5 back in the 80's to not annoy the commoners too much.

  • Adding to the Grinds My Gears of this week, people speeding on the M25, then slowing down to 10 MPH below what the speed limits are because of the fixed cameras... Like honestly, just slow down to 75 when you were going 90 before... not down to 60 in the 3rd/4th lane... Or better yet, don't speed

  • I'd split the podcast and main content on two different channels, also get some lights, you guys look like you are sitting in the dark now.

  • Miles got a Nurbergring sticker if I remember correctly

  • I went to Nurburgring, bought the sticker, came back to NZ and put it on my B5 S4... It was awesome, but def agree with not putting stickers unless you've been to the track.

  • Don't know why but Alex reminds me so much of Stewie Griffin 😂😂 especially when he does the big "oooohhh"

  • Citroen Ami - Citroen's answer to Clive Sinclair......but no one asked the question!

  • Cheap A6 is not a good idea. Mine breaks consistently on the day after it's been repaired

  • Focus st170 are like £500-1500 all day of the week, great buy!

  • Sold / accepted as is , with all faults if any

  • The citroen ami is a mobility scooter for people who don't have mobility issues.

  • The police haven’t been working on it for three years it just took them that long to bother looking into it. Meanwhile I imagine many other people fell for the scam.

  • Best track sticker I've seen is m25.

  • Definitely love Gareth and Alex's flirtings... they even wearing matching jumpers!!!

  • " I Prefer taking all badges off the car so nobody know nuffink.” Gareth we know you're not South African you're really from Essex, just be honest, c'mon the gig is up

  • While an listening to this , having my coffee ☕️, while installing my pedal box and DTE systems on my GR Yaris at my garage home this morning. ❤️ entertaining guys 👍

    • @Do One 😂 It’s morning and I don’t drink it unless it’s non alcohol 🍺 😆😅
